The man who
created NLP
Dr. Richard Bandler is the co-founder of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and the president of the Society of NLP. Born in 1950, Bandler studied mathematics and philosophy at UC Santa Cruz, where he met John Grinder and began the work that would become NLP.
Together, they modelled the patterns of outstanding therapists — Milton Erickson, Virginia Satir, Fritz Perls — identifying the specific communication and behaviour patterns that made them exceptional. Their insight was radical: excellence is learnable.
